Ensayos clínicos de tumores cerebrales

Los ensayos clínicos de tumores cerebrales de St. Jude han llevado a mejores terapias para niños. Estas mejoras incluyen terapias de dosis más baja, terapia dirigida y terapia con protones. Estos tratamientos destruyen las células cancerosas y dejan vivas las células sanas. Pueden disminuir los efectos secundarios que afectan la función cerebral después del tratamiento para algunos tipos de tumores cerebrales.

También participamos en ensayos desarrollados por el Grupo de Oncología Pediátrica (COG, por sus siglas en inglés) y el Consorcio Pediátrico de Tumores Cerebrales (PBTC, por sus siglas en inglés). Muchos de nuestros médicos y científicos juegan papeles importantes en el desarrollo de estos grandes estudios. Ocurren en centros de todos los Estados Unidos.
